Two of Spartan’s superstars have shined for the Australian cricket team to help lead the Aussies to victory in game one of the 2013 Australian Ashes Test Series.
Mitchell Johnson’s short bowling against England was brutal and effective, as were his efforts with the bat. With a combined total of 103 runs and 9 wickets MJ was a clear standout choice for player of the match.
”To get a five-for in a Test match in an Ashes series, is an unbelievable feeling,” the 32-year-old said. ”All the boys just racing in and getting in the huddle. It was just a great celebration for us. It’s been a long time for us winning a Test match. It was a great moment.”
Australian Captain Michael Clarke also showed why he is one of the best test batters in the world making an impressive combined total of 114 and steadying his team to victory.
Game two commences on the 5th of December and both players are looking forward to the challenge of the Adelaide wicket.
