Last Friday more than 550 people turned out at Wests Campbelltown to support injured NRL player Simon Dwyer.
In a fantastic show of support from the rugby league community, the fundraising dinner known as “Roar for a Cause: Tribute to Simon Dwyer”, raised much needed funds for the injured former NRL player to undertake a medical procedure.
25 year old Dwyer’s NRL career was cut short in 2011 after suffering nerve damage in a tackle against the Canterbury Bulldogs. He still wears a sling three years later.
The evening featured a range of rugby league celebrities including Spartan ambassador Beau Ryan.
