Mitch Johnson, best known for his blistering fast left arm bowls which can run through the best of batting lineups, is doing what he does best for the Kings XI Punjab in the IPL this season. After an extremely successful summer of cricket Mitch Johnson is looking to further his success and continue to devastate batsmen with his fast paced swingers.
Mitch first featured in the IPL back in 2012 when the Mumbai Indians signed him at the IPL Player auction, which he later was the key to their success for them in the 2013 season, claiming 24 wickets in 17 matches as they won the IPL trophy. As of 2014 Johnson was signed by the Kings XI Punjab and has continued to be one of their first choice bowlers in this season’s IPL.
Mitchell Johnson helped inspire the Kings XI Punjab team in one of their biggest matches this season against the first placed Rajasthan Royals which was a match dominated by Australian test stars. The match was tied and came down to a super over to be played by both sides. That’s where Johnson stepped up and cleaned up and violently uprooted fellow Australian teammate Shane Watson’s off stump on the first ball of the over to extinguish their hopes.
Mitch’s team currently sits in eighth position on the IPL ladder with two wins under their belt out of the seven matches they have played. Mitch and the Kings XI Punjab face Gurinder Sandhu’s Delhi Daredevils tonight.
