Sripali Weerakkody

Sripali Shiromala Weerakkody is an international Sri Lankan women cricketer. She plays as an All- Rounder in the Sri Lankan women’s national team who bats left handed Left Handed & bows Right Arm Medium Pace.
Born in a developing country where Asian values and traditions are considered to be the normal way of life it wasn’t easy getting into professional cricket as a girl. However Sripali has always been the person to fight for what she believes in. It was in Cricket that she found the strength to help makes changes to what she wanted to see in the world.
Her International achievements:
• Awarded as the Best Batswomen 2010
• Awarded as Women of the Match against Ireland 2012, against West Indies 2015 and against South Africa in the World Cup 2013
• Participated for the Women’s World Cup 2009 in Australia
• Played in the first T20 Women’s World Cup in England 2009 and in the T20 Women’s World Cup in West Indies 2010
• Selected as ICC’s Upcoming Player for the T20 World Cup 2012
• Participated for the Women’s T20 World Cup 2012 and the Women’s World Cup 2013 in India
• Current ranking in World Cricket – 18th place Bowlers ODI and – 50th place for all formats of the game
